Virtual Trivia Night

Wednesday, July 22 @ 7 p.m. via Zoom. Looking for some brainy summer fun? Come and join us for a virtual trivia night! We’ll be holding our first competition on Wednesday, July 22 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Snacks and drinks are welcome. Registration is required; to receive your Zoom login, you must sign up as part of a team (minimum of 2 people, maximum of 6). There will be prizes for the winners. Virtual Writers’ Group Tuesdays

Meets every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.
Are you interested in writing but don’t know where to begin? Join our virtual writers’ group to get yourself started! Each online session, we’ll write a response to a certain prompt (e.g., themed short stories, essays on selected topics, etc.) and then share what we wrote and give each other feedback. You may also present your independent writing projects to the group for suggestions and critiques. This will be a place for fun, creativity, camaraderie, and mentoring. Registration is required; please email info@scrantonlibrary.org to receive your Zoom login info.

Automatic Renewals

The Scranton Library now has automatic renewals! You no longer have to call or renew online, just check your e-mail to make sure your item is eligible. Items will renew automatically! Most Scranton Library items may be renewed twice, unless on hold for another patron.

Eligible items will renew for the original loan period. For example, books renew for an additional 21 days and DVDs renew for an additional 7 days. Eligible items will be automatically renewed up to two times.  Read more >

Scranton Library Closed Starting March 16 Due to COVID-19

We at the Scranton Library want you to know that we take the health and well-being of our staff and patrons seriously. For that reason, the Scranton Library will be closed to the public effective Monday, March 16th. Our book drop is closed, but be assured that no late fees will be charged while the library is closed. All of our programs have also been suspended.
