A singer/songwriter whose talent has been compared to Bob Dylan’s, Converse disappeared from the New York music scene in the early 1960s and from the planet over fifty years ago. A little too ahead of her time, Converse’s music is enjoying a contemporary resurgence.

Howard Fishman is the author of To Anyone Who Ever Asks: The Life, Music and Mystery of Connie Converse (Dutton, 2023).
