The Scranton Library Friends provide support to the Scranton Library in a variety of ways. Their fundraising efforts underwrite all library programs and other items not covered in the town’s library budget. Additionally, the Friends organize and run the popular Used Book Sale every summer, the Parade of Pooches dog show every September, and various pop-up sales throughout the year. Friends can be found re-shelving books in the library, baking goodies for library programs, sending library welcome letters to new town residents and doing all they can to support the library. Parade of Pooches
Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 9:00AM on the Madison Green.
Bring your dog and your sense of fun to the 9th annual Parade of Pooches Dog Show. Registration opens at 9:00AM; judging to be completed by 10:00AM, with awards to follow. Ribbons within each breed for: tallest, shortest, oldest, youngest, biggest ears, smallest ears, longest tail, shortest tail, biggest paw, smallest paw. Best-in-Show winners for all of the above PLUS best trick, best costume, and looks-like-owner. Entry fee is $8 per dog; pay at the Green on Show Day. A great family event! Sponsored by the Scranton Library Friends. All proceeds benefit the Library.
