Summer Program Staff (Temporary, Grant-funded)
The E.C. Scranton Memorial Library in Madison, CT seeks a friendly, collaborative individual to join our team full-time for five weeks this summer. It is the third year of our free, half-day, grant-funded summer program. We are now looking for one staff member to assist our Summer Programming Coordinator and existing staff in making this summer a success! The successful candidate for this position will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an interest in working with children ages 5-12 in either a program or classroom setting. The position will be full-time for five weeks in July and August, with some training hours the week before the program. Adult Volunteering:

Thank you for thinking of E.C. Scranton Memorial Library! Volunteers are a great support to our library staff and also to our community. 

We welcome volunteers to help us:

  • Shelve materials (fiction, non-fiction, media)
  • Shelf read (making sure materials are in their proper places)
  • Make home deliveries (deliver library materials to Madison residents who are unable to come to the library).

Friends of the Library:

Friends of the Library volunteers do various tasks for the Library, including assisting with events, planning programs, organizing fundraisers, and assisting with the Book Sale. If you would like to help out, please contact the Friends of the Library
