Calling all Youth Philanthropists! During the month of March, you can help create a Kids Library of Things – a collection of non-traditional items for kids to borrow and take home.

Based on recent survey results, we’re hoping to purchase these items: Perler Bead Kit, Artie 3000 Coding Robot, Floor Puzzles, KEVA Brain Builders, Makey Makey, Tabletop puppet theater, Beach Toy Kit, Fine Motor Skills for Babies Kit, Toy Car Play Mat, Dinosaur Adventure Backpack.

We hope you and your family will donate and inspire the next generation of philanthropists! The benefits of youth philanthropy are numerous – kids learn responsibility, a sense of purpose, and they develop leadership and teamwork skills. They become more engaged in their community and begin to understand the needs of others. One of the best ways to promote youth philanthropy is to encourage children to become involved at local organizations they already know and love – like the Scranton Library!

To get involved, here’s what kids can do:
·Visit the children’s room, make a donation, and write your name on a paper shamrock to be displayed in the Children’s Room. Remember this is teamwork… every donation counts!
·Tell your friends and stay tuned for the unveiling of YOUR Kids Library of Things.

You can also donate online, please specify “Kids Library of Things” in the donor note, and thank you!
