Opportunities for Giving
The Scranton Library is supported by the Town of Madison, which provides 85% of the library's annual budget. Additional support -- and the ability to provide excellent service -- comes from the generosity of donors. Only with donors' support can the Scranton Library continue to provide excellent collections, stimulating programs and lifelong education.

The E.C.Scranton Memorial Library is a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization. Contributions are fully deductible under federal tax regulations. The Library is eligible for corporate matching grants.

Annual Fund Appeal
The Annual Appeal supports the Library by providing materials that keep the Library at the center of the community’s intellectual life. Your generous contribution can help support books, online databases, DVDs, CDs, and audio books for children, teens, or adults. Everyone from cradle to retirement enjoys borrowing books, movies or music from the Scranton Library.

With your contribution of $50 or more, we will inscribe a special bookplate to be placed at the front of a newly purchased book.

Memorial Gifts
Many families designate the Library for gifts in memory of loved ones. A gift to the Scranton Library is a fitting tribute. The Library will provide acknowledgement of the memorial gift to the family of the person memorialized. Click here for a form to mail to the Library.

Gifts
Unrestricted donations are always needed to fund the 15% of the annual budget not supported by the Town. Gifts that are unrestricted allow us to put the resources where the need is greatest.

The Library provides wide range of services for everyone in Madison, for babies to the oldest members of the community. Madison residents are using the Library in record breaking numbers. The Library needs your help now more than ever. Your gift to the Library will benefit everyone in Madison many times over.

Friends of the Scranton Library
In addition to supporting the annual operating budget of the Library, Friends membership dues make possible hundreds of free programs every year, for the very young to older adults, and fund special purchases and equipment not included in the Library budget.
