Wizardly Science Feb. 20th 10:00 -11:00

Come to the library to enjoy a session with Jane Copes of “Science Outside the Box”. Jane will be showing us a lot of science behind mysterious color changes and bubbling brews. Madison Health Assessment Survey

Attention all Madison Residents: Scranton Library is helping spread the word that now is your opportunity to get involved! The Madison Health Department encourages all residents to participate in their community health assessment. The assessment will help them gather accurate information representative of our community and identify issues for action to help improve the overall health and well-being of our residents.
Starting today and during the months of February and March, please fill out the assessment either by paper copy at the following locations:

Scranton Memorial Library
Madison Health Department located at the Madison Town Campus (8 Campus Drive)
Madison Chamber of Commerce Office (12 School Street)

Text Messaging Service Now Available

With the Shoutbomb text messaging service, you can use your mobile phone to receive text notices about holds that are available, items that are due soon, and overdue items and fines. You can also send a text to renew an items and add multiple library cards to one phone. Follow the link in this post to sign up.

Borrow an E-Reader, iPad or Chromebook

Scranton Memorial Library card holders can borrow from an assortment of e-readers and tablets or a Chromebook, free of charge.  Choose from a Kindle Fire, basic Kindle reader, Kindle Paperwhite, Nook Color, Samsung Galaxy Tablet, iPad Mini, an Acer c720 Chromebook, or iPads specially outfitted for kids. These devices circulate for 14 days, and e-readers have a collection of popular titles installed.  The iPads offer an assortment of kid-friendly apps chosen by our Children’s department.
